Text-To-Audio 9.5

Text to Audio is a TTS application designed with a double purpose – firstly, to help those with a print disability to access the content of electronic text files, and secondly to make anybody’s reading experience easier and more flexible. This text-to-speech program can create WAV and MP3 files out of almost any text file, including TXT, DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML, and XML. As a bonus – and a very generous one – Text to Audio also includes a PDF to text converter, that allows the program to OCR any PDF file and make a recording of it using your preferred synthetic voice.

Together with this PDF-to-text converter, the program is full of other nice features, like the possibility of using it as a standalone e-text or e-book reader. Without the extensive functionality of other Premier Literacy readers, this “preview” functionality includes everything you need for a quick reading of any text prior to conversion. You can change the font and its size and color, and you can also add as many marks in the text as needed. These will come in handy as soon as the program starts recording, as it may use these marks as cutting points for the audio. The idea is not to create a huge one-file recording, but a series of smaller audio files (either in WAV or MP3), making them easier to handle and to share. To do that, you will be required to choose between cutting where a mark is, and cutting following a fixed time lapse.

The processing speed is excellent, and the results will vary according to the voice used. Now, all you need to do is to put your audio files in your favorite device and enjoy your audio book.
